Victim identified in Grand Rapids shooting

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — The Grand Rapids Police Department identified Manuel Salgado as the person killed in Thursday night's shooting on Grand Rapids' Northwest side Thursday evening. The injured victim has not been identified.

The shooting happened in the 500 block of Lincoln NW at approximately 8:10 p.m. Arriving officers provided emergency medical aid to a man suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene, but the man didn't survive.

A woman who was also injured in the shooting was transported to Butterworth Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

Investigators say the victims were confronted by two suspects prior to the shooting. The first suspect is described as a black male approximately 20 to 30 years of age, between 6'0" and 6'4" with braided hair and a mustache last seen wearing dark clothing.

The second suspect is described as a black male approximately 40 to 50 years of age, about 6'0". He was also last seen wearing dark clothing.
