GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — K9 Camo Companions is hosting their inaugural shoot out event to support military veterans.
The non-profit is partnering with Kent County Conservation League (KCCL) to bring three shooting events: pistol poker, two gun, and sporting clays. Registration for the shoot out begins at 9 a.m. with events starting at 10 a.m. on October 24. Lunch will be provided.
Cost to participate is $140 per person or $600 for a five-person team. KCCL will supply rifles, pistols, pistol ammunition, and eye/ear protection. Event participants may use their own 12 or 20 gauge shotgun and bring ammo for 75 shots, or otherwise buy ammo at KCCL.
Lori Vorpi, Executive Director for K9 Camo Companions, joined Fox 17 live to talk about how proceeds go towards helping former service members match with shelter dogs.
