BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Battle Creek Police and the Michigan State Police are investigating a shooting involving an officer that happened Wednesday afternoon.
The incident started just before 4 p.m. on South Avenue.
According to police, the officer involved in the shooting was not physically injured.
As a customary part of this type of investigation, the officer involved has been placed on paid administrative leave while the investigation is conducted.
There is no danger to the community at this time, according to police.
