Pentwater's Free Fishing Weekend returns Feb. 13

PENTWATER, Mich. — Pentwater’s Winterfest is scheduled to take place on the second and third weekends of February this year, according to the Pentwater Chamber of Commerce.

The event includes the annual Free Fishing Weekend on Feb. 13 and Feb. 14.

The Winterfest schedule of activities this year are listed as follows:

Saturday, Feb. 13

  • Snowman Scram 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run: 11 a.m., registration opens at 9:30 a.m. at the bus barn. Entry fee is $25 for the 5K, $15 for the Fun Run. Register online here.
  • Pentwater Pathways Open: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free. Participants must wear masks when trying on ski equipment, and children must be escorted by an adult. Will be rescheduled to Feb. 20 if there is no snow. Click here for trail and ski information.
  • Pentwater Ice Skating Rink: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Entry is free. Participants are asked to bring their own ice skates and wear masks.

Saturday, Feb. 20

  • 11th Annual Ryan Williams Perch Tournament: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., registration begins at 7 a.m. at the Pentwater Convenience Center or Port View. Entry fee is $10 for adults, $5 for children 15 and under. Register online here.

We’re told the Polar Plunge, Two Town Tasting, and Collen Plummer Beer and Music Festival will not be held this year due to COVID-19.
