Motorcycle accident in Cass County injures one

CALVIN TWP., Mich. — One motorcyclist in Cass County was injured after hitting loose gravel and crashing into a ditch.

Just after 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a motorcycle crash that occurred on Brownsville St, East of Crooked Creek RD in Calvin Township.

Michael Bell, A 50 -year-old of Schoolcraft, was driving his motorcycle westbound on Brownsville Street when he hit loose gravel, lost control and ended up in a ditch.

Bell was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for his injuries.

Bell was wearing a helmet when the crash happened. At this time, it is unknown if intoxicating substances were a factor.

This case remains under investigation.
