LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency is continuing to issue Lost Wages Assistance payments to those eligible for relief.
The state says it is now approved to distribute the $300 in additional payments for each week ranging from July 26 through Sept. 5 — or six weeks, according to a web update provided by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity.
Claimants must prove that their unemployment or partial unemployment occurred as a result of COVID-19, and they will be prompted to respond to a question under the “Alerts” section on their MiWAM account.
The department also says those who have already self-certified were among the first payments issued, stating that the rest will follow suit after the completion of this process.
