MSP investigates fatal crash in Newaygo County

ASHLAND TWP., Mich. — A Newaygo County crash that is under investigation by the Michigan State Police (MSP) killed one man today.

Troopers from the Hart Post responded just before 11 a.m. today to the crash on M-37, south of 120th Ave in Ashland Township.

A Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 75-year-old Sparta man was heading northbound and crossed the center line, striking a Toyota pickup truck head on.

A Ford pickup truck heading southbound was unable to stop and crashed into the other two vehicles.

The driver of the Toyota pickup truck, a 52-year-old man from Grant, was transported to the hospital, where he died as a result of the crash.

The driver of the Chevrolet was also driven to the hospital, where he is in in stable condition.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

This crash is under investigation by MSP.
