STANTON, Mich. — A teenage mother will serve at least 12 years in prison for the murder of her 3-month-old son.
Mistie Moyer was sentenced Thursday to 12 to 40 years in state prison after pleading guilty to murder in the 2018 death of her son, Fred LeRoy Wallace III.
The child died last November, and the medical examiner rule his death a homicide and found older injuries, including a broken arm and ribs.
She was originally charged with open murder and child abuse, but pleaded guilty to second-degree murder as part of a plea deal.
