MSP investigating serious-injury crash between motorcylce and car in Montcalm County

FAIRPLAIN TWNP., Mich. — Sunday morning around 11:30 a.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Lakeview Post responded to a two-vehicle traffic crash in Montcalm County on M-66 near Sessions Road, which resulted in serious injuries to a 24-year-old male from Sheridan, Mich.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2010 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Dillon Deal, the 24-year-old Sheridan man, was southbound on M-66 when he rear-ended a 2009 Toyota Camry driven by an 82-year-old woman from Sanford, Mich.

Deal, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle as a result of the collision and suffered serious injuries.

Deal was transported to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids by AeroMed for his injuries. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.

Troopers were assisted by the Sheridan Community Fire Department, Montcalm County EMS, AeroMed, Bookwalter’s Towing and Montcalm County Central Dispatch.
