MONTCALM COUNTY, Mich. — The Michigan State Police are investigating after a man in the roadway was hit by a vehicle and died in Belvidere Township early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at 2:44 a.m. Sunday when troopers from MSP's Lakeview Post responded to a report of a crash on West Howard City-Edmore Road near North Sheridan Road. Upon arriving at the scene, they found that Ty Martin, 23, from Edmore had been struck in the roadway by a westbound vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation by the Michigan State Police, who said no further information about the incident is available at this time.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Belvidere Township Fire Department, Montcalm County Emergency Medical Services, the Safety First Wrecker Service and Montcalm County Central Dispatch.
