DOUGLASS TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Investigators have determined the death of a child at a Montcalm County home was a homicide.
Vayda Vazquez, 1, was found unresponsive by first responders around 5:30 a.m. at a home on Stanton Road near Hillman Road in Douglass Township. Emergency crews tried to revive her but were unsuccessful.
She would have turned 2 next month.
After an autopsy Wednesday, investigators ruled Vayda’s death a homicide. Information on what caused her death or what led up to it wasn’t immediately available.
