CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP, Mich. — One man died after jumping into the water when a woman in his boat fell into the water Thursday just after 2:30 p.m.
59 year-old Kelly Schaffer and the 54-year-old woman were boating on Crystal Lake when the woman went overboard. When the pair were pulled out of the water by passing boaters, Schaffer was already not breathing. CPR was started, but the Perrinton man was declared deceased on the scene. The woman was not injured.
The Michigan State Police tell FOX 17 neither person was wearing a life jacket.
