WASHINGTON — Jobless claims in Michigan soared from 5,338 for the week of March 14 to 129,298 for the week of March 21, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
The increase can be directly attributed to business closing due to response to coronavirus.
The national seasonally adjusted number of new unemployment for the most recent week was 3,283,000, up from 282,000 the previous week.
