WALKER, Mich. — Meijer has issued a recall on a list of cantaloupe products from its Arizona-based supplier, Eagle Produce.
The recall results from sampling by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development that exposed a risk of salmonella.
The cantaloupe products, including whole melons and various trays, cups, and bowls sold at all Meijer stores between Sept. 26 and Oct. 5, are sold under the Meijer brand and the Kandy Brand. The melons bear a sticker that reads Kandy Brand from Eagle Produce, LLC. The company said in a release that if there is no sticker, it should be considered to be part of the recall.
