SALEM TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 75-year-old man died on Monterey Lake in Salem Township, the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday.
Deputies responded to a reported flipped kayak in the water and pulled the man from the water. He was pronounced dead after failed resuscitation efforts, police said.
The kayak appears to have flipped, according to police.
A witness told police the man was not wearing a life jacket.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Marine Patrol continues to investigate.
