PLEASANT PLAINS TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The sheriff in Lake County says investigators found human remains on a property in Pleasant Plains Township over the weekend.
According to Sheriff Richard Martin and the Lake County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, police obtained a second search warrant in regards to a missing person's case from two years ago.
Richard Allen Ashbrook was reported missing on February 11, 2018. Police say during the search on Saturday, they found remains buried on the property.
The sheriff's office and the Michigan State Crime Lab exhumed the remains and collected other evidence on Sunday.
Police have not yet identified the remains.
