CASSOPOLIS, Mich. — $363 million has been awarded to telecommunication companies in Michigan the Federal Communications Commission reports (FCC) to improve internet, but some are concerned it doesn’t work.

The financial award was accomplished through the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF). Some lawmakers are asking the FCC to further vet the winners of the financial award to ensure that internet speed is improving.

Congress submitted a letter to the FCC and will be holding a teleconference meeting further discussing this issue on Feb. 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
