BENTON HARBOR, Mich. — Benton Township police are investigating after a 25-year-old South Bend resident was found with a single gunshot wound to the head.
Officers were dispatched about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday to 2165 Ruth for a report of man shot in the head, a news release said Thursday.
Upon arrival, they found the man in the driver’s seat.
He succumbed to his injuries despite life-saving measures that were attempted.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
Police continue to investigate, but they do not believe there are any shooters at large and no immediate threat to public safety.
