MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. — Drone video shows the harrowing moments when two kids are nearly washed off the Michigan City pier.
The video was taken by Brandon Clair of Timeless Aerial Photography.
Apparently realizing they needed to get off the pier, the pair slowly make their way from the end of the pier by dashing between catwalk supports as heavy waves crash against the stone and concrete.
“When there is high wave activity, cities with piers should restrict access,” said Dave Benjamin, executive director of the Great Lakes Surf Rescue Project. “Going out on these piers is a high-risk situation with very little reward.”
