MACATAWA, Mich. — A 50-foot sailboat on the South Side of Lake Macatawa sunk Saturday morning.
According to witnesses, the ship was parked at D Dock at the Eldean Shipyard in Macatawa Friday night, and sunk the following morning.
In the salboat's sinking, approximately 50 gallons of diesel fuel leaked into the water.
The Coast Guard Sector of Lake Michigan and local officials are investigating the cause of the sinking.
