Overnight standoff with armed man ends peacefully

GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A domestic violence incident that involved a man armed with several weapons ended peacefully late Thursday night.

Ottawa County deputies and officers from the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety were called to the 17900 block of Oak Hill Ct.off of 178th Avenue in Grand Haven Township after 9 p.m.

A man pointed at officers through a window. A short standoff ensued after officers backed off, but the suspect came out of the house with several weapons. When confronted by officers, he pointed a weapon at an officer but turned and ran. Police caught up with him after a short chase, and the suspect is in custody.

The suspect faces several charges.
