HOLLAND, Mich. — A man was sent to the hospital Thursday morning after police say he was stabbed by his roommate during an argument.

Holland police were called around 12:30 a.m. to a home on 15th Street for a stabbing. Police say the victim and suspect rent rooms in the home and got into an argument.

Eventually it turned physical and the suspect picked up a knife and cut the victim. Investigators say it’s unclear what started the initial fight because both sides gave conflicting statements.

The suspect, a 45-year-old Holland man, was arrested and taken to the Ottawa County Jail. The victim was taken to the hospital for minor cuts.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the incident.
