CHESTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Ottawa County Road Commission has approved a new weight limit for the bridge on 32nd Avenue.
Single-unit vehicles weighing up to 41 tons, double-unit vehicles weighing up to 41 tons, and triple-unit vehicles weighing up to 55 tons may cross the bridge, according to Ottawa County. The bridge crosses Crockery Creek between Truman Street and Sherman Street.
We’re told there has been some structural deterioration, which was what prompted the change.
The county says the bridge will remain open, but vehicles that exceed the aforementioned weight limits should access an alternate route.
