TALLMADGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A teenage boy was taken to the hospital after being accidentally shot Friday afternoon in Ottawa County.
It happened around 2:26 p.m. at a home on N White Street in Tallmadge Township, near Walker.
Authorities say a 14-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were playing with guns inside the home. At some point, one tried to take the gun from the other, causing the gun to go off.
The 14-year-old was hit in the upper arm area and taken to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital to be treated. His injury isn’t considered to be life-threatening.
Investigators said the shooting is believed to be a result of horseplay, but are still looking into it.
