JAMESTOWN TWNP., Mich. — A two-car crash near the intersection of 32nd Avenue and Riley Street sent one child to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Friday night around 8 p.m., the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office along with Jamestown Fire/Rescue and Life EMS responded to the area of 32nd ave and Riley for a single vehicle crash in which a vehicle had left the roadway and struck a tree.
Investigation on scene showed that a 2004 Mazda being driven by a 16-year-old Dorr resident was heading south on 32nd and began to hydroplane, and lost control in a heavy downpour.
The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree about 40 feet off the road.
A juvenile passenger was transported from the scene to DeVos Children's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries by Life EMS.
This crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.
