WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 4-year-old girl has been found safe after going missing in a cornfield at night.
Ottawa County Sheriff's deputies responded after 8 p.m. on Saturday and started searching for the toddler near 40th Avenue and Van Wagoner Street in Wright Township, by Westridge Orchards and Beaver Creek. The search consisted of 9 assisting agencies as well as a large number of family, friends, and neighbors. The area was densely covered with several hundred acres of standing corn.
After almost 3 hours, the girl was finally found by a K9 team from the Holland Department of Public Safety. The 4-year-old had been walking approximately one mile from where she was last seen.
She was released to her family without any injuries.
