HOLLAND, Mich. — A Holland mother of a child with Down syndrome has written her own book about her experiences to help others.

Katelyn Herrygers is the author behind the book "I Am Me" who she wrote in the name of her 2-year-old son Jameson.

Herrygers says she wrote "I Am Me" for her son Jameson, herself, and those in his life to recognize and understand that we are all exactly who we were meant to be.

The book is for the new mom or dad to be, the sibling or cousin, the grandma and grandpa, the neighbor, the friend, the toddler, the pre-teen, the grown up and it's for her son Jameson.

Herrygers chose to work with Ashley Bryant, a Grand Rapids native and freelance illustrator whose vibrant images bring the book to life.

Katelyn and Ben are co-owners of Poppin Huis, a small Gourmet Popcorn and Vintage Candy shop in Holland, MI with a specialty line inspired by Jameson called the Super Jay Brand where $3.21 of every item sold is donated. Online and in-store you’ll find Super Jay Brand shirts, mugs, dolls, and the "I Am Me" book with the I Am Me message and donation commitment.

You can pick-up a copy of the book in-store through Poppin Huis the week of December 15 – Just in time for holiday gift giving.
