OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — The Anti-Racism Task Force held a town hall meeting in Ottawa County this afternoon.
The meeting featured Social Centric Institute Director Calvin Terrell and Ottawa Area Intermediate School District’s curriculum consultant Rebecca Bush. Both panelists gave presentations, followed by a Q&A session and community conversation.
“This Town Hall gives us the opportunity to step back and reflect on our earlier education, says Barbara Lee VanHorssen with The Momentum Center for Social Engagement. “What have we been taught in our school systems and what are we teaching now? What is the role of the educational system in addressing questions of social justice?”
