HOLLAND, Mich. — Surgical and endoscopy procedures will be resuming at Holland Hospital.

The hospital announced Friday that scheduled surgeries that were suspended due to COVID-19 will be resuming May 4. Patients whose procedures had been scheduled will be contacted directly by their provider.

Special safety procedures will be in place due to the pandemic. All staff, patients, and visitors will be screened for temperature, exposure, and symptoms before entering the hospital, plus provided personal protective equipment.

“The decision to expand surgeries is based on our ability to safely care for each patient and protect our staff with high quality personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety procedures as well as our ability to respond to a health crisis if needed,” said chief of staff Dr. Susan Ervine at Holland Hospital.
