Allendale man faces child sex charges

EMMET COUNTY, Mich. — An investigation into the relationship on Snapchat of a girl and an Allendale man led to his arrest on one charge of accosting a child for immoral purposes and one charge of possession of child sexually abusive material.

Aaron Matthew Aument, 23, of Allendale was arraigned in Emmet County on July 16 after an investigation that begin in July 2019.

At that time, the parent told Michigan State Police their child had accepted a friend request on Snapchat. The conversations with the stranger became sexual and the girl was coerced into sending the man explicit pictures. He also sent her explicit pictures.

The MSP investigation led to Aument, who was interviewed by troopers from the Rockford post. His cellphone was obtained and, when search warrants were obtained it was examined by the MSP Computer Crimes Unit.
