HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Deputies responded to a traffic crash at the intersection of 120th Avenue and Chicago Drive this afternoon.

A 71-year-old woman from Holland drove her 2012 Ford Escape along Chicago Drive when she made an attempt to turn onto 120th Avenue, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. They say that’s when the woman was hit by a 39-year-old male in a 2002 Chevrolet Express van.

Witnesses say the van had the right of way, according to police.

The woman was taken to Holland Hospital to be treated for minor injuries to the face and wrist. The male driver suffered minor injuries that did not necessitate medical attention.

We’re told the crash resulted in a power outage, disabling the traffic signal at the intersection. Police say MDOT is working to repair the signal.
