GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two people were injured during a two-car crash in Georgetown Township Friday afternoon.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office responded about 1:30 p.m. to the crash at the intersection of Chicago Drive and Main Street, a news release said.

A 24-year-old Grand Rapids man was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix westbound on Chicago Drive at Main Street and had a green light.

Meanwhile, a 20-year-old woman from Saginaw was driving a Dodge Stratus eastbound on Chicago Drive and tried to turn northbound onto Main Street.

She drove into the path of the Pontiac Grand Prix, Ottawa County police said.

The woman driving the Dodge Stratus and a passenger from the Pontiac Grand Prix were taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Dodge Stratus was cited for not yielding the right of way.
