MUSKEGON, Mich. — A woman who was convicted of starving horses to death is going back to jail for violating her probation.

Bobbi Jo VanKoevering was sentenced to two months in jail last year after pleading no contest to felony animal cruelty charges. She was charged after her roommate tipped investigators about three horses that starved to death and other malnourished animals on her Ravenna property.

Part of her probation included not being able to live with animals, which she violated by having a dog on her property. A probation officer saw a picture of a husky she posted on social media and went to her home, where a dog was found.

She will now have to serve 30 days in jail. Her three-year probation sentence will continue after she is released.
