MUSKEGON, Mich. — Power has been restored to thousands of people Wednesday morning.
The majority of the outage was in Muskegon County, where more than 7,200 Consumers Energy customers were without power. Another 452 customers were without power in Ottawa County.
Consumers says a power line near Dangl Road and Apple Avenue was damaged, causing the outage. Crews are still investigating what caused the damage.
Muskegon Area District Library, Ravenna, and Egleston branches were closed and but will reopen when power is back on. Oakridge Public Schools has also canceled classes due to the outage.
Consumers says it is hoping to have power restored by 10:30 a.m.
