MUSKEGON, Mich — Muskegon Public Schools has issued an alert that it will be closed for Thursday, February 13.
The closure is due to illness and comes a day before school is out of session for Mid-Winter Break.
According to the district's superintendent, Thursday's closure will allow extra time for the illness to pass. Officials also say during the break, custodial staff will be disinfecting buildings and surfaces to prevent chances of the illnesses spreading.
The district is asking parents to keep kids home when classes resume Tuesday, if they aren't feeling well, showing signs of a fever or experiencing other symptoms.
Hackley Staff, Maintenance and custodial staff are set to report for their regular workday Thursday.
