MUSKEGON, Mich. — A Muskegon Township police officer became an unlikely hero this week when he rescued a pig wandering in the cold with his eyes frozen shut.

Officer Aaron McConaughy lassoed the pig to safety and took him to Pound Buddies, according to Township Police Chief Patrick Vandommelen.
Vandommelen says the pig has since been reunited with his owner.
