MUSKEGON, Mich. — The Muskegon Lumberjacks are working on putting social distancing and other safety measures into place as the United States Hockey League announced plans to play the upcoming season.
“We will follow the governor’s lead in regard to the number of people allowed into the arena, but we are committed to assuming a leadership role in the re-energizing of our community,” said Mike McCall, president of the Lumberjacks. “There are going to be questions that need to be addressed and we will be prepared to act on them as needed.”
A pre-season schedule is set for September, “as long as Gov. Whitmer provides that opportunity and it is safe for players, fans and staff members,” according to a news release.
The Lumberjacks are also preparing for a team camp in August ahead of the pre-season, the news release said.
