MUSKEGON, Mich. — Hackley Community Care has hired six medical providers from Muskegon Family Care ahead of its closure at the end of March.

Muskegon Family Care announced the closure earlier this month, which is forcing about 20,000 patients to find a new place for medical care.

Several organizations in the area have stepped up to help patients continue receiving care, including Hackley.

“HCC is participating in community conversations with local health care organizations and community leaders to respond to this crisis in our community,” HCC chief executive officer Lina Juarez said in a release.

Part of that response was hiring six people directly from Muskegon Family Care:

  • Ryan Busch, PA
  • Kathryn Hendricks, PA
  • F. Remington Sprague, MD
  • Sara Strait, NP
  • Marco Tatangelo, MD
  • Margaret Wolter, NP

Hackley encourages patients of the providers they hired to continue care with them. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the new patient access line at 231-733-6750.

Current patients at Muskegon Family Care who need to have their records transferred to another provider will need to go there to authorize it.
