18-month-old Muskegon child suffers serious injuries after being hit by car

MUSKEGON, Mich. — An 18-month-old has suffered serious injuries after being struck by a motor vehicle backing into a driveway on Saturday.

On Saturday at approximately 11:15 a.m., a serious personal injury non-traffic crash occurred at the 2200-Blk of Strand Rd.

Upon arrival, it was learned that an 18-month-old female had been struck by a motor vehicle in the driveway, while the vehicle was backing up in the driveway.

The child was transported to Hackley Hospital, where she was later transported to DeVos Hospital for serious injuries.

The Muskegon County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) Traffic Services Unit is continuing the investigation.

MCSO was assisted at the scene by the Dalton Township Fire Department, Muskegon Township Fire Department, Michigan State Police and ProMED.
