GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — The Loutit District Library is moving to curbside-only services next week through Thanksgiving weekend as COVID-19 cases surge.
The change will start Monday and is being done as a precaution, as the library doesn’t currently have any reported coronavirus cases among staff, a news release said.
Officials say they’re making this move in an effort to avoid a complete shutdown of library service.
Book returns will remain open and a new after-hours holds pickup locker will be available in the library’s garage, allowing patrons to get their requested materials outside of scheduled curbside hours.
They hope to re-open for regular library service Nov. 30 but will continue to evaluate the situation.
