HAGER TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A Cadillac is considerably damaged after an Amtrak train crashed into it late Friday night in Berrien County.
Around 11:30 p.m. on Pier Road near Baker Grower Maker Acres, the car drove through the railroad crossing and got hung up on the tracks.
Witnesses told deputies that the driver got out of the Cadillac and fled the area as the vehicle got hit by the train. The railroad lights had been flashing, crossing arms were down, and the train sounded its horn.
Both the Cadillac and the Amtrak train are damaged, but no one has been injured.
This is still an active investigation by the Berrien County Sherrif's Office.
