Michigan State Police are hosting their annual food drive on December 14th.

"Stuff the Blue Goose" starts at 9 a.m. Saturday and goes until 7 p.m. Representatives from the Wayland Post will be at the Wal-Marts in Plainwell and Hastings collecting non-perishable foods and toys for families in need.

Allegan County food donations will be delivered to Christian Neighbors Food Pantries in Plainwell and Wayland, while the toys will be taken to Community Action of Allegan County for distribution to those who need them. Food donated in Hastings will go to Barry Couty Cares and the toys will be taken to the Barry County United Way.

In a statement, Michigan State Police Post in Wayland tells FOX 17 the most frequently requested foods are canned fruits, veggies, and meats, though all un-expired foods will be accepted and given to families in need. MSP Wayland says they want to help everyone celebrate during this time of year.
