GUN PLAIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A United States Postal Service worker died Monday after a truck hit their vehicle while delivering mail.

The crash happened at 12:25 p.m. on 10th Street south of Carrie Avenue in Gun Plain Township, near Plainwell.

When emergency responders arrived at the scene, the Postal Service vehicle was on fire in the ditch next to the road. Authorities said the postal worker was found inside the vehicle after the flames were put out.

They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the truck was going south on 10th Street when it struck the back of the Postal Service vehicle. Alcohol don’t appear to be factors in the crash.
