MARTIN, Mich. — Graduating seniors at Martin High School will be treated to a Friday Night Lights tribute.

At 8:20 p.m. Friday night, May 1, the football stadium lights will come on and stay on for 20 minutes. Note that 8:20 p.m. is 20:20 in military time.

Graduating seniors will line up their cars at the west end of the stadium and, beginning at 8:45 p.m., will be escorted by the Martin Fire Department in a parade through town and back to the stadium.

Parents and residents who want to watch can park in the stadium parking lot while practicing social distancing. But residents can stand along Allegan Street for the parade, again practicing social distancing.

While there are just 33 graduating seniors, organizers point to high levels of support from the community for their high school.

A similar event was held April 24 at West Ottawa High School.
