ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. — The Allegan County Health Department says doses of the COVID-19 vaccine remain in short supply.

They tell us they’ve received 900 first-dose vaccines to be administered next week, adding that a total of 2,000 vaccines are expected to be provided across three clinics in that time.

The ACHD says 11,000 individuals in the 65+ age group have registered for the vaccine so far. We’re told it could take as long as eight weeks for eligible recipients to be contacted as a result of limited vaccines.

Residents interested in receiving the vaccine are encouraged to fill out the “I Want the COVID-19 Vaccine” form on the Allegan County website.

We're told those eligible to receive the vaccine may make an appointment through Meijer Pharmacy, Spectrum Health Zeeland or the West Michigan Vaccine Clinic.

The ACHD also asks that residents not make appointments at more than one site, as it delays others from receiving the vaccine.

Allegan County residents may call 269-686-4546 if assistance is required.
