Update 9/13/20: Officers have identified the victim as 21-year-old Connor Meert, who has unfortunately died from her injuries.
Police say the driver of the vehicle that hit her did stop and is fully cooperating with the investigation.
At the time of the incident no arrest was made.
The case has been turned over to Kalamazoo's Detective Bureau, who will be following up with the case.
9/12/20: A 21-year-old is in the hospital after she was hit by a car around 2:07 a.m. on Friday.
Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers found her lying in the road at the intersection of W. Michigan Ave. and Emajean St.
According to witnesses, the car that hit the victim had the right of way, and she was hit while crossing W. Michigan Ave.
She is currently in stable but critical condition, and the cause of the crash is still being investigated.
