KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is asking neighbors to avoid the area of Park Street and Hopkins Street while officers investigate a shooting.
As of 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, the department said one person was hurt, but they are expected to survive.
Officers are searching the area for a suspect.
The department said to expect a large police presence.
Initial information from police said there were two victims, but the department later clarified that just one person was hurt in the shooting.
