Stolen firearm recovered during Kalamazoo traffic stop

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Kalamazoo police recovered a stolen firearm during a traffic stop Thursday evening.

The traffic stop was made in the area of East Stockbridge Avenue and South Burdick Street, according to Kalamazoo Public Safety.

They say contact was made with the vehicle’s occupants when a semi-automatic weapon was spotted inside the car.

We’re told the gun was confiscated before it was determined to be stolen, resulting in the arrest of a 36-year-old resident from Kalamazoo. Police say that person was charged with multiple felonies.
