KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. — An initial report of gunshots being fired eventually turned into a stolen car being discovered Sunday morning.

At 5:19 a.m. Sunday, the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office responded to multiple reports of gunshots being heard in the area of Rollridge Avenue and Observation Avenue in Cooper Township. Callers' information made it sound like the shots had occurred between vehicles traveling on Rollridge.

Upon arriving in the area, sheriff's deputies found an unoccupied vehicle that had crashed in the 3500 block of Rollridge.

The investigation showed that the vehicle had been reported stolen by the Kalamazoo Township Police Department on April 27.

The incident remains under investigation by the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office.

Anybody with any information about either the gunshots or the stolen vehicle is being asked to contact the sheriff's office or Silent Observer.
