COOPER TOWNSHIP — One man was killed and 4 other people injured Tuesday night in a two-car crash just after 7:30 p.m.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office tells FOX 17 Kelly C. Brooks was killed when the minivan he was riding in collided with a westbound car. The van was traveling east on 14 Mile Road near West C Avenue, attempting to turn left into a driveway when the crash happened.
First responders found Brooks and two other passengers seriously injured and trapped in the van. Everyone in the van and two people in the car were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the car did not want medical treatment.
Fifty-seven year-old Brooks was pronounced dead at the hospital. The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's investigation showed speed did seem to be a factor in the crash.
